Welcome to the Stewards of Indigenous Resources Endowment’s (SIRE) website.
SIRE’s Board of Directors and I congratulate you for considering creating an estate plan to provide great peace of mind for you and those you love. Researching the estate planning process for Indian trust lands can be daunting but we hope this website will help you with this important planning.
Writing an Indian will and developing an estate plan allows you to decide who will receive your trust and non-trust property and how assets will be used when you are gone. An estate plan also allows parents to name guardians for minor children. In addition to providing for loved ones, an estate plan can make your wishes known regarding healthcare decisions and charitable intentions.
Our website provides several “how to” instructions, a glossary of terms, and links to other related websites, in addition contact information for estate planning professional and resources to help you craft a well thought-out estate plan for you and your family.
Founded in 2007, SIRE is one of its kind in providing trust and estate planning to Indian Country. Our Board aim to promote the highest quality direct estate planning services in the Southwest and Pacific Northwest, and remote services to other Tribal Nations through this website. With guidance from our Advisory Council, SIRE seeks to provide estate planning publications and tools necessary for any Native American Indian to write his/her will with little or no legal assistance. I invite you to look around our website and to please contact us if we may be of service to you.
Warmest regards,
Ms. Roberta Armstrong
